COMMENTARY BY SRIMAT SWAMI CHIDBHAVANANDA:
Not only does yoga emanate from Iswara, but He is also the bestower of it on worthy aspirants. Creating, protecting, withdrawing, veiling and revealing—these are the five divine activities which the Lord is pleased to carry on eternally. Among these five, the glory of Cosmic revelation it is that Arjuna supplicates to have a glimpse of. The granting of the spiritual vision is an act of grace that comes from the Yogeswara.
To give prominence to personal will is not the way of the Bhakta. He subordinates self-will to the will of the Lord. Consistent with this attitude, Arjuna pleads that the vision of the Cosmic Form of Iswara might be granted to him if the Lord thought he was worthy of it.

COMMENTARY BY SRIMAT SWAMI SIVANANDA:
Arjuna is very keen and eager to see the Cosmic Form of the Lord. He prays to Him to grant him the vision. This supreme vision can be obtained only through His grace.
Yogesvara also means the Lord of Yoga. A Yogi is one who is endowed with the eight psychic powers (Siddis). The Lord of the Yogins is Yogesvara. And, Yoga is identity of the individual soul with the Absolute. He who is able to bestow this realisation of identity on the deserving spiritual aspirant is Yogesvara.

He Who is able to create, preserve, destroy, veil and graciously release is the Lord. These five actions, Panchakriyas, are known respectively as Srishti, Sthiti, Samhara, Tirodhana and Anugraha.)         (BLOGGER'S NOTE: PLEASE FOLLOW ME.
